Shifting Worlds

Meadow Arts' new project in partnership with Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust is off to a great start. The contemporary art programme features new work, an artist's residency, an exhibition, a symposium and live events. Visit our website for more information.

The first work has been installed: a newly commissioned sculpture by international artist David Nash. Three Black Humps looks stunning against the backdrop of industrial remains at the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron site.

This is where the Industrial Revolution was born: it is hard to believe, when you look at the idyllic scenery of the Ironbridge Gorge, that this green and verdant landscape was black with smoke and soot such a relatively short time ago.

We look forward to bringing you some blog entries about and by the Shifting Worlds artists over the summer, starting with artist in residence Faye Claridge: watch this space!
